Basically if you experience sharp pains when you are doing this or any pose ease up a little. The "no pain no gain" mentality does not apply to Yoga.

Yoga for pain relief is always a main focus of mine being that I have a long time love for motorcycles and extreme sports.

For the most part Yoga can be used to free up seized joints and most of the poses are really good for this.
What I have found as Yoga teacher is that Ice is still my favorite for pain relief accompanied by a regular practice of  course. For some great postures visit our Yoga postures page.
